Top Spin Tennis have two new exciting opportunites for new team members to work in our Pro-Shops. Initially, the role will be full time with approximately 37.5 hours guaranteed per week.

Top Spin Tennis is a local, family owned business and is East Anglia’s Largest Racket Sports Specialists with a number of Pro-Shops in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Lincolnshire and Buckinghamshire. We specialise in the supply of tennis, badminton, squash and racketball goods and services. We pride ourselves on our excellent reputation which is based on superior customer service. We are well known for our International Stringing Services - all our team either hold or are working towards their stringing qualifications – the team strung over 8,000 rackets in 2018! All our team work closely together in our extended network and everyone is encouraged to contribute to the development of the business.

Brief Job Specification

  • Servicing rackets – stringing, re-gripping, replacing bumpers
  • Retail sales – advising customers on suitable products
  • Taking payments
  • Answering the phone and taking customer orders
  • Ensure shops look neat, tidy and welcoming for customers

Person Specification 

The person we are looking for ideally will have the following qualities:

  • Have an interest in at least one racket sport
  • Be friendly, easy to get on with and confident dealing with customers
  • Have a desire to work and contribute to a team and the business
  • Be a great team player – we all support each other.
  • Be flexible with working hours and locations
  • Have a good telephone manner
  • Be computer literate
  • Be organised, methodical with meticulous attention to detail
  • Be keen to learn about racket sports, the latest products, and services we offer
  • Interested in learning to string at the highest level – you will need to have a practical nature
  • Must be able to work unsupervised after suitable training

Employment Conditions

Working hours are to be agreed and paid on an hourly basis four weekly in arrears. The hourly rate will be according to age and experience. We offer a Workplace pension scheme. Applicants who wish to follow an apprenticeship programme with a local service provider will also be considered.

A probationary period of one month must be successfully completed before a permanent contract is offered.

We have are looking to employ one person to inially work at our Hills Road shop and another person to work at our two branches in Norwich. The successful applicant will be expceted to work various shifts throughout the week inlcluding Saturdays. Evening work will be required, the latest you will be asked to work is 7:30pm.

Full ‘on the job’ training will be provided – you will work alongside our other team members.
